Covid-19 in Turkey: 18 more people died of coronavirus

	NEWS CENTER - The Health Ministry has reported 1,592 cases for the past 24 hours as the increase in new cases continues after the reopening in early June.

	 

	The Health Ministry has reported 1,592 coronavirus cases for the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 179,831.

	 

	After the government eased most measures on June 1, the number of daily cases have doubled, reaching mid-May levels. 

	 

	Sharing the figures on Twitter, Minister Fahrettin Koca said that the increase in new cases "intensified in certain regions," without disclosing the locations. İstanbul, the largest city of Turkey, had nearly 60 percent of the cases, he had previously stated.

	 

	The number of patients in intensive care and on ventilators has also increased sicne yesterday's update.

	 

	The death toll, meanwhile, has risen to 4,825 with 18 fatalities in a day.
