
Death fasting Akman and Karakaya taken back to prison

	İZMİR – It was stated that Didem Akman and Özgür Karakaya, who were in a death fast in Şakran Closed Prison, were taken back to their wards from the hospital where they were taken to, after their condition worsened.

	&nbsp;

	Özgür Karakaya and Didem Akman, who started the death fast on February 19 with the demand of fair trial and correction of prison conditions in the Şakran Closed Prison, was taken to the campus hospital in the prison two days ago after their condition deteriorated.

	&nbsp;

	The İzmir Branch of the Contemporary Lawyers Association shared the status of Karakaya and Akman from their Twitter account.

	&nbsp;

	ÇHD said: "The prison administration called the families of death fasting Didem Akman and Özgür Karakaya and told that they were taken back to their wards. We will be following the torture our clients were subjected to closely."
