Turkish artillery shells hit Kani Masi town

	NEWS CENTER - Kani Masi District of Duhok province hit by artillary shells during recent a Turkish military operation in the region.

	 

	Turkish Armed Forces targeted Kani Masi District in the Amedi district of Duhok province with artillary shells during Monday night. Sarbast Sabri, head of the Kani Masi subdistrict told K24 that Turkish shells struck the center of Kanî Masî and a shell fell within 100 meters of the district directorate.

	 

	Villages in the Duhok subdistrict of Kani Masi reportedly have been emptied of their inhabitants over fear of Turkish airstrikes in the area. 

	 

	On June 16, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) launched a military operation on the Iraq FederaL Kurdistan Region. Since then The Kurdistan Region’s border areas have come under bombardment by Turkish strikes as part of a combined aerial and ground-based assault. As a result of the operations launched by Turkey targeting civilian areas, 9 civilians lost their lives and many civilians were injured. Previously, a picnic area of ​​Kanî Masî in Duhok, was bombed by warplanes and 3 civilians lost their lives.
