Koca announces 20 more deaths from Covid- 19 2020-08-27 09:18:31   NEWS CENTER - The Ministry of Health has announced that Turkey’s coronavirus death toll has risen to 6,183 and the total number of cases to 262,507. 20 people have died of the virus and 1,313 people have tested positive in the last 24 hours.   The Ministry of Health announced the latest figures on novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Turkey yesterday (August 26).   While 1,313 people have tested positive, 20 people have died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. 1,002 people have recovered. The number of tests conducted in the last 24 hours has been announced as 100,109, which marks the first time the number of daily cases topped 100 thousand.   According to the figures announced till today, 6,621,749 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Turkey so far. While the total number of cases is 262,507, the death toll has reached 6,183.   While 841 patients are reportedly in critical condition, the rate of COVID-19 patients with pneumonia has been announced as 7.4 percent. The total number of recovered patients is 239,797.   Citing these data, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has said on Twitter, "Today, we conducted more than 100,000 tests. We have 1,313 new patients as a result of these tests. We have had to take special measures in some provinces. We can succeed if we observe the measures together."   Since originating in China last December, COVID-19 has claimed over 820,800 lives in 188 countries and regions. Nearly 24 million cases have been reported worldwide while over 15.61 million patients have recovered so far, according to figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
