Singer dragged off the stage by police: I will always stand up to inequality 2020-08-27 12:06:33 İSTANBUL - Musician Melek Mosso has said that she was forced to come off the stage after announcing support for the İstanbul Convention on preventing violence against women during a concert. The incident happened on Saturday (August 22) during her concert at Aqua Florya shopping mall in Bakırköy, İstanbul, when some people called the police after she said on the stage that "İstanbul Convention saves lives."   "We came off the stage without making it difficult for our police and didn't talk about it further in order not to make a big thing out of it," she added.   "My microphone was taken out of my hands. I came to my home and cried my eyes out," she said.   She said that she sings the "Keklik gibi" song in every concert in the memory of women who were killed because of gender inequality.   Mosso also criticized the pro-government daily Sabah over its report, in which it said, "Melek Mosso's heavy political messages cut the concert short."   She said that she would take legal action against the newspaper unless it removes the article and apologizes to her.
