Shocked into mutism as a result of police raid on her home 2020-10-13 10:50:11 KARS – A 10-year-old disabled girl, who was shocked and unable to speak during the police raid on the house of the arrested Digor Municipality Councilor Hamit Taşdelen, is frightened whenever the door is knocked.   16 of the 21 people, including HDP Municipal Council members and Provincial General Assembly members, who were detained along with Kars Municipality Co-mayor Şevin Alaca in the operation carried out in Kars on October 1, were arrested by the court. 10 year old disabled Şilan Taşdelen, daughter of Digor Municipal Councilor Hamit Taşdelen was shocked into mutism during the police raid.   Mother Gülşen Taşdelen, telling about the day their house was raided, stated that the door of their house was knocked at 04:00 in the morning and that their doors were broken before they were given the opportunity to open. Taşdelen explained what happened afterwards as follows: “They searched the house thoroughly. My husband Hamit Taşdelen was already suffering from heart disease. They laid my husband on the ground and detained him. My little daughter is physically disabled. When the house was raided, my little daughter was shocked with fear and couldn't speak. "   SHE CONSTANTLY ASKS WHERE HER FATHER IS   Taşdelen explaining that her daughter who recently started speaking again after the raid keeps asking where her father is, and gets scared every time someone knocks on the door. Taşdelen said: "They searched every room when they came. They even looked under the quilt of my daughter's bed. When my daughter saw her father laying on the floor with his hands tied behind his back, she went into shock. She constantly asks about her father after she started to talk again and she can not sleep. She gets scared everytime the door is knocked."   Stating that the only person providing for the family was the father, Taşdelen said she didn't know what to do with her 4 daughters.   Taşdelen also told that she is concerned for her husband who has been suffering from heart disease and high blood pressure. Taşdelen told that her husband was referred to hospital once he was put in prison. Pointing out that there is nothing on the file that constitudes a crime, Taşdelen demanded her husband to be released taking into account his health issues.
