In the statement emphasizing that some ISIS members responsible for the massacre have been tried but those who have public responsibility was protected from being prosecuted and the fact that it was a crime against humanity was ignored.   The lawyers commission asked the following questions in their statement: "Aren't those who know the planners of the massacre and did not do anything about it, those who identified the suicide bombers and did not do anything about it, those who let the bomb-laden vehicle pass, those who removed the check points at the enterance of Ankara, those who hid intelligence, those who tear gassed the people after the explosion, those who blocked the medical teams from entering the area responsible? Why hasn't a single public official been tried? Why were some ISIS defendants, who were obviously administrators or obviously took part in the massacre were sentenced only for membership of a terrorist organization? Why weren't all the planners of the massacre included in the file, why was there no effort to capture the fugitive defendants, why were the intelligence documents regarding the defendants kept hidden? Why weren't the defendants accused of crime against humanity when its clear what happened was a crime against humanity and why was this fact ignored even though it was proved?"
