Death toll in İzmir earthquake rises to 73 2020-11-02 11:12:39   İZMİR - A 6.9 magnitude earthquake has left several buildings demolished and at least 73 people dead in the province of İzmir, west of Turkey.   The Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) announced that the number of people who lost their lives as a result of the earthquake in İzmir rose to 73.   According to AFAD figures, 961 people were injured by the earthquake, of whom 722 were discharged from hospital after getting treated, while the treatment of 218 continues.   Search and rescue efforts continue in eight buildings in the city struck by the earthquake on October 30, Friday.   The 6.9 magnitude earthquake was followed by 1044 aftershocks.
