
Police officer in Kemal Kurkut case, acquitted

	DİYARBAKIR - In the case of Kemal Kurkut, a university student who was killed in the Newroz celebration in Diyarbakır, the court acquitted the defendant police officer Y.Ş.

	&nbsp;

	The police officer Y.Ş accused of killing university student Kemal Kurkut in the Newroz Celebrations in Diyarbakır back in 2017 was acquitted by the court in the 12th hearing of the case, held in Diyarbakır 7th High Criminal Court. While the court board acquitted the police officer who shot Kurkut, it was decided that criminal complaints to be filed against 72 police officers to identify the possible suspect.
