Peace Mothers: We need peace not war 2020-12-16 11:36:53   ANKARA – Making a call to Barzani who want to escalate the tension in Federated Kurdistan Region, Peace Mothers Münibe Yıldız and Hatice Ay said: "The Kurds have no choice but to be united."   The military and political tension created by Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Federated Kurdistan Region continues. Protesting the policies followed by the KDP, Peace Mothers Hatice Ay and Münibe Yıldız called for the Kurds to ensure national unity as soon as possible.   Explaining that as a family they had to move to Ankara from the Lice district of Diyarbakır because their village was burned down by the soldiers, Ay said: "We are an oppressed people. We have to unite at once."   'IT'S AN UGLY POLITICAL GAME'   Defining the developments in Kurdistan as an ugly political game, Ay said: "Both sides are Kurdish. We used to support Barzani, but after the tension he created, we can not anymore. We are brothers and sisters, we are one. Barzani must sit and think about it. Our language and our culture are the same. Anyone would respond to an attack against themselves. The guerilla has the right to respond to an attack against themselves."   'WE WANT PEACE'   Reminding of the period between 1992 and 1994 when there was a conflict among the Kurds, Ay said: "Who benefited from the conflict in the 90's? We don't need war, we need unity. As the mothers, we can not accept this persecution. We have suffered enough and continue to do so. My only call to Barzani is that he must turn back from this mistake. If he doesn't make an effort for national unity, then he must not stand in the way. Kurds have been slaughtered enough. It pains us all when one of us is killed. We don't ask who he was from or where he was born or what his political opinion was. We want peace. We want the Kurds to unite and live like a human being."   'DON'T ALLOW A WAR OF BROTHERS'   Peace Mother Munibe Yılmaz, who migrated from Ardahan to Ankara 40 years ago, said she was worried about another of birakuji (sibling fight). Expressing that mothers do not want war, Yılmaz said, "If a war breaks out, we will be face to face with tyranny, brother will kill brother. We do not accept this. Don't be fooled by these games."   CALL TO BARZANİ   Reminding of Barzani's own words when he said conflict between Kurds is forbidden, Yılmaz said: "What changed and he decided to wage a war against his brothers and sisters?" Calling on to Barzani, Yılmaz said: "Don't start a war. Talk to each other. Don't allow a war of brothers."   'WE WILL GO EXTINCT IF WE DON'T UNITE'   Calling on to all mothers, Yılmaz said: "Mothers suffer each time someone gets killed. No matter who is killed. The conflict created between Kurds is the game of those who do not want us to unite. We shouldn't be fooled by that. I will do all that in my power to stop a war until I die. We will give our lives in a blink to avoid a war. Cigerxwin said 'Hun nebin yek, Hunê herin bi yek bi yek' (You will die one by one if you do not become one). Kurds have no choice but to be one. Peace will come if we become one."     MA/ Emrullah Acar
