Mother can't see her son for two years: I'm in prison as well 2021-01-04 10:09:09 ŞIRNAK - Bedriye Arzuman, mother of Hamza Arzuman who has not been able to visit her son in prison in Gümüşhane Type E Prison for the last two years said: "My only wish is that my son to get out of there and brought to a closer prison. I can't travel that far. I haven't seen him for two years. I'm in prison as well."   23 tear old Hamza Arzuman who was arrested during the curfews in 2015 in the Silopi district of Şırnak and was sentenced to 36 years in prison, told about the violations of rights in Gümüşhane Prison to his family on the phone. Being held in prison for the last 6 years, Arzuman told that the sewege pipe passing through their ward has burst and hasn't been fixed so the dirty water leaks in their ward.   'WE CAN NOT BREATHE'   Critisizing the violations of rights in prison, Bedriye Arzuman told that her son was jailed unlawfully and has been in prison for the last 6 years. Mother Arzuman said: "He didn't do anything. There are no concrete evidences. I haven't been able to see my son for the last 2 years because he is held in a prison so far from home. He is being tortured there. He told that the sewege pipe burst and the dirty water leaked all over them and that they could not breathe. And they are not taken to the yard despite the fact that the ward is not habitable.   Stating that her son is held in Gümüşhane prison for the last 4 years and she was able to go there once in this 4 years, Arzuman said: "I would be able to visit him from time to time if he were in Diyarbakır or Van. I don't know how he's doing. He has been suffering from toothache for 3 months and he hasn't been referred to a hospital. He called the other day and told that they could not breathe in the ward due to the sewege pipe. Is this how the state does to those in prison? I am expecting a little remorse. My only wish is that my son to be brought to a closer prison. They made them crawl right before the hunger strikes. The prison is old and dirty. It is a miracle they are still alive. I just want him to be transferred to a closer prison. I am in prison with him too."     MA / Zeynep Durgut
