Berwarî: Garé operation was carried out to prevent PKK from being delisted from 'terror organizations' list 2021-02-23 11:16:37 İSTANBUL - Stating that the purpose of the Garé operation was to prevent PKK from being delisted from the 'terror organizations' list, Academic Kamuran Berwarî gave examples of similar incidents from the past.   The discussions on the Garé operation located in Federated Kurdistan carried out by Turkey in which 16 soldiers lost their lives continue. Politician and Duhok University lecturer Kamuran Berwarî evaluated the aims of the operation and its reflections in Federated Kurdistan. Reminding that PKK was added to the 'terror organizations' list with the killing of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme and the killing of 33 soldiers on Elazığ- Bingöl Highway in 1993, Berwarî said that the aim of the Garé operation was to prevent PKK from being delisted from 'terrorist organizations' list.   OBJECTIVE OF TURKEY   Stating that the operation was carried out with the support of Iraqi Army and some local forces, Berwarî said that the objective was not to rescue those soldiers but to kill them. Underlining that those soldiers could have been rescued in so many different ways and without bloodshed since 2015, Berwarî said: "The main objective of the operation was to kill those captives and blame it on the PKK, making sure PKK stays on the 'terrorist organizaitons' list. Someone instructed by Turkey and some European forces killed Swedish PM Palme and blamed it on the PKK. On the other hand, they killed some of their own soldiers by the hand of Şemdin Sakık and some spies. PKK was added to the 'terrorist organizations' list as a result of these two operations. Garé operation was a continuation of this."   ERDOĞAN'S PLAN   Pointing that another aim of the operation was to invade Federated Kurdistan Region, Berwarî said: "If they had succeeded, they were going to attack Shengal and the borders of Rojava with the Iraqi Army and that way they were going to be able to seperate Rojava and Bashur. We see that the policies and strategy of the Erdoğan Government is totally collapsed in Garé."   Stating that with the failure of Turkey, some local and regional, and global forces were also failed, Berwarî said these forces must review their plans and strategies regarding the Kurds and the Middle East. Berwarî said: "A new picture came to the fore for US, European forces, Arab states, Turkey and Iran after the war in Garé. Now everyone has to review their plans."   END OF THE NEO-OTTOMANISM DREAM   Stating that the results of the Garé war carried the Kurdish struggle forward and end the neo-ottomanism dream, Berwarî said: "This must be understood. Forces or peace, democracy and freedom achieved great success in this war. And it gave the Kurdish forces a message that reads they don't need to belittle themselves and act with others. From now on, all Kurdish forces must focus on removing the Turkish soldiers from Bashur permanently."   TIME FOR THE FREEDOM OF ÖCALAN   Berwarî said: "Now the freedom of leader Öcalan must be ensured and PKK must be removed from the 'terrorist organizations' list. Political and diplomatic work should come to the fore both in Kurdistan and in the world. Bloodshed must stop both in the Middle East and in all four parts of Kurdistan. Everyone should know that the dreams to destroy the Kurdish people and invade Kurdistan is over now. These plans never succeeded and never will."
