Kemal Kurkut commemorated in the place where he was shot 2021-03-21 12:48:15 DİYARBAKIR - Kemal Kurkut, who was killed by the police in Diyarbakır 2017 Newroz, was commemorated where he was shot.   Kemal Kurkut, a 2nd grade student at İnönü University Faculty of Fine Arts, who was killed by a police bullet in Diyarbakır in Newroz 2017, was commemorated in the place where he was shot on the 4th anniversary of his death. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Mithat Sancar, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır, HDP deputies İmam Taşçıer, Dersim Dağ, Garo Paylan, Semra Güzel and many people attended the commemoration held on Evrim Alataş Street.   'THE DAYS YOU DREAMED OF WILL COME'   Speaking at the event, HDP Co-chair Sancar said: "They shot and killed a young man here for years ago. He came here with joy and bullets pierced his body. Everybody saw that murder. Those bullets were meant for peace. His smile was so alive as life escaped him. His smile is in our lives now. To realize his longings is our duty. Those who murdered him were not punished. I shout out that unlawfulness again here. Sleep well. The days you dreamed of will come. We are here for that."   After the speeches, Sancar and his entourage went to the celebration in Newroz Park.
