Erciş Co-Mayor Çetin released from prison

	VAN - HDP Erciş Municipality Co-Mayor Yıldız Çetin who was replaced with a trustee was sentenced to 7 years 6 months imprisonment and released from prison.

	 

	The final hearing of the law suit filed against Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Erciş Municipality Co-Mayor Yıldız Çetin who was accused of 'being a member of a terrorist organization' was held in Van 5th High Criminal Court. Yıldız attended the hearing via Audio and Video Information System (SEGBİS) from Osmaniye T Type Prison. 

	 

	The journalists and politicians who wanted to follow the hearing wasn't allowed in the court room due to pandemic measures.

	 

	Çetin made the same defense she made at the first hearing and demanded her release.

	 

	The court board sentenced Çetin to 7 years and 6 months and released her from prison.
