Kobanê Case prosecutor conducts different investigations with the same anonymous witness 2021-06-14 12:57:47 ANKARA - It was revealed that the prosecutor of the Kobané Case is running another investigation against SES members with the statements of the same anonymous witness, codenamed 'Ulaş'. Ulaş testified for the law suit against the HDP to be banned.   The third hearing of the lawsuit filed against 108 people, including former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chairs, Central Executive Board (MYK) members and executives, on grounds of the protest actions against ISIS's attacks against Kobanê between 6 and 8 October 2014 will be held today at Ankara 22nd High Criminal Court. Right before the hearing, it was revealed that the prosecutor of the Kobanê Case had prepared another investigation file based on the statements of the secret witness “Ulaş”. It was learned that the prosecutor's office made the statements of the anonymous witness "Ulaş" the main accusation in the investigation against the Health and Social Service Workers' Union (SES) on May 25.   The statements of the aforementioned anonymous witness were also included in the first indictment, which was prepared for the law suit against the HDP to be banned which was later rejected by the Constitutional Court (AYM).   DOZENS OF LAW SUITS FILED WITH THE STATEMENTS OF THE SAME WITNESS   Stating that this can go further with other law suits following the law suits to ban HDP and the one against the SES members, HDP Law Commission member Attorney Kenan Maçoğlu said: "The prosecutor of the Kobané Case was working on this case alone. He did not prosecute any other cases. In addition, the investigation into which these unionists were detained is being conducted by the same prosecutor. We believe that hundreds of people are being investigated by the same prosecutor, using the statements of the same anonymous witness Ulaş. We have documents and information to prove this. We believe that this will continue. Although this prosecutor had special authority , he was appointed to other special cases. One prosecutor, one witness and hundreds of law suits. Just like the Gülen Congregation process, they are trying to pressure the social opposition with such operations."
