Dr. Savary-Borioli: Öcalan is the key to solution in the Middle East 2021-11-13 10:54:41 NEWS CENTER - Freedom Ship passenger Dr. Beppe Savary-Borioli stated that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is the key to the solution to the Middle East and said, "Öcalan's thoughts are a way out for the international public opinion." At the call of the Freedom for Öcalan Initiative, 40 people, including intellectuals, writers, academics, politicians and peace activists from different countries, came together on the Freedom Ship to demand an end to the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and ensure his freedom. The passengers of the Freedom Ship, which get under way from Lavrio in Athens, Greece on November 9, arrived in Naples on November 12, the 23rd anniversary of Öcalan's arrival in Italy after he was driven out of Syria by an international conspiracy. The Freedom Ship passengers, who were welcomed here and marched and voiced their demand the freedom of Öcalan.   One of the passangers on the Freedom Ship from Ticino, the Italian Canton of Switzerland, Dr. Beppe Savary-Borioli stated that he participated in the action for the freedom of Öcalan.   KEY TO SOLUTION   Expressing that he will continue to stand in solidarity with the Kurds, Savary-Borioli said, “Öcalan's freedom is intertwined with the Kurdish question. Just as Mandela was the key to the solution in South Africa, Öcalan is the key to the solution in the Middle East. Turkey may isolate Mr. Öcalan in Imrali, and may not let him meet with anyone. But Öcalan's thoughts are arousing great sympathy all over the world right now."   A MODEL FOR FREEDOM   Stating that Öcalan's philosophy of Democratic Confederalism is a model for the world, Savary-Borioli said, "Mr. Öcalan's philosophy of democratic confederalism is a model of freedom that can ensure a common life among peoples. This is a model of freedom not only for the Middle East and Kurdistan, but for the whole world."   ÖCALAN IS THE WAY OUT   Emphasizing that Öcalan is an important actor for the world, Savary-Borioli said, “In particular, international powers may have supported Turkey's political interests.
