Muslim: ISIS attacks supported by Turkey 2022-01-22 10:23:51 NEWS CENTER - PYD Co-Chair Council Member Salih Muslim, who stated that the ISIS attack in Hesekê was carried out with the support of Turkey, said, "This was planned way before in Astana." While clashes broke out following the attacks against the Sinaa Prison, where ISIS members are held in Hesekê, Northern and Eastern Syria, Democratic Union Party (PYD) Co-Chair Council Member Salih Muslim evaluated the developments in the region. Speaking to  Fırat News Agency (ANF), Müslim stated that the long duration of the clashes that started with the attack on the prison showed the scale of the attack plan and said, "The attacks were arranged from outside. More importantly, a previously captured gang leader said that the sleeping cells and all the ammunition and logistics in the area come from the Turkish-occupied areas and Iraq. It means that they are also involved in attacks. It seems that preparations for these attacks have been made for some time. It seems that it was not a isolated incident."   CURFEW   Noting that they infiltrated all the way to the prison with the sleeping cells they set up in Hesekê districts, Muslim said: “The people inside started to cause distractions. Some attempted to escape. Some fled to other parts of the city. The Internal Security Forces declared a curfew across Hesekê to clear it from the city.”   'THIS WAS ALL PLANNED'   Pointing out that 8 of the 10 items discussed at the last meeting in Astana were about Northern and Eastern Syria, Muslim said, “They tried to destroy what's being built there saying that the area is full of 'terrorists'. This was all planned. The attacks from Shehba to Zirgan, the seige of the region, the fact that the borders were closed by South Kurdistan and Syrian regime, the weaponise the ISIS members in prison, all of it.. Any form of problem will be in their favour. All the aims and objectives of the Turkish state's attacks are to overthrow the administration here. They are doing their best to do it. All of the dozens of ISIS cells captured so far have relations with the Turkish state. That's why those who carry out these attacks are not alone. Someone is supplying them with ammunition and logistic support. Otherwise, it's not something they can do by theirselves."   BORDER GATES   Stating that the region is subjected to daily attacks, Muslim continued as follows: “There is pressure on 5 million people living in the region. Problems are created by closing the border gates. For example, let's talk about the Semalka Border Gate. They want the sit-in started by the families of the martyrs to end. It means that their troubles or the reasons for closing the border gate were not the actions of the youth. For four months now, no response has been given to the mothers.”   'THEY SHOULD SEE THE ISIS DANGER'   Noting that the whole world, especially the international powers, should see the danger of ISIS here, Muslim said: "One of the ones that will be most affected by the escape of tens of thousands of ISIS members in the region, especially the 5 thousand ISIS members in prison, is the Western countries. If they really want to get rid of terrorism, they need to help the region. If international forces insist on ending ISIS, they should be vigilant against these plans. They must stand up against those who support these attacks.”   'WE WILL RESIST'   Demanding the establishment of an international court for ISIS members, Muslim said, "We will not give up our free life and democratic projects because of these attacks. Everyone should know that we will resist."
