Kurdish political prisoner threatened by guard with decapitation 2022-02-24 15:38:50   ISTANBUL - Hamgin Karakaş, who is being held in Bolvadin Prison, was threatened by guards with decapitation.   Hamgin Karakaş, who is being held in Afyonkarahisar Bolvadin  Type T Closed Prison, said in a phone call with his family that he and one of his friends were forced by the guards to a ward where the confessors are being held and subjected to violence there. Hamgin Karakaş's mother, Cemile Karakaş, spoke about the violations her son was subjected to. Karakaş, in her phone call with him yesterday, said, "My son was tortured in that ward because he did not do what the guards wanted."   MILITARY DISCIPLINE IMPOSED ON PRISONERS   Mother Karakaş stated that Hamgin was threatened by the guards for putting his hand on the table, and said, "My son objected to the imposition of the military discipline during the count and said he was not a soldier, not an ordinary prisoners but a political prisoner and that he will not submit to them. Then a group of guards handcuffed him and his friend and removed them from the ward. They threatened them with decapitation if they resist and told that they had to act like their soldiers."   POLITICAL PRISONERS HAVE NO LIFE SAFETY   Mother Karakaş said: “My son wanted either to be removed from the ward of the confessors or to have the confessors removed from that ward, but they did not accept it. My child does not want to stay there. Hamgin said they didn't have life-safety. He urgently wants a delegation to go to that prison.”   'HE HAD BRUISES ON HIS FACE'   Mother Karakaş said that her son, whom she went to visit last week, had bruises on her face. In addition, mother Karakaş stated that 11 guards were waiting next to them during the contact visit and added that she could not speak to her son in private.   MA / Diren Yurtsever
