Newroz message from Leyla Güven: Kurdish people always have a solution

	HAKKARİ - Sending a message to Hakkari Newroz celebrations, DTK Co-chair Leyla Güven said: "Kurdish people have never been helpless and without a solution. Our solution and our remedy is the epic resistance and the self-power of our people.

	 

	Newroz was celebrated in Hakkari which is at the slopes of Mount Sümbül, one of the resistance strongholds of the Kurdish people with the slogan “Dem dema serkeftinê ye” (Now is the time to win)

	 

	CHIEF OF POLICE AT THE NEWROZ CELEBRATIONS

	 

	Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Provincial Co-chair Lokman Özdemir said: "Even today, the sons and daughters of Kurdistan is being slaughtered. Kurdish people never submitted to Dehaks. We will prevail. The Chief of Police showed up at the Newroz celebrations with an army of bodyguards and observed the celebrations with the people at the protocol. The crowd started chanting 'Biji Serok Apo' as the Chief of Police was watching the celebrations. The Cheif of Police then left the area.

	 

	NEWROZ FIRE WAS LIT

	 

	HDP Hakkari Provincial Co-chair Hümeyra Armut said: "Newroz is our identity. Newroz Piroz Be! We are the ones who greet the sun. We are the ones who greet the sun first. This is why we turn to peace, democracy and a dignified stance. Our struggle will continue until our struggle is crowned with victory."

	 

	Van Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Mustafa Avcı and HDP Provincial Co-Chair Lokman Özdemir then lit the Newroz fire with the people of Hakkari.

	 

	MESSAGE FROM LEYLA GÜVEN

	 

	After the Newroz fire was lit, the message Leyla Güven sent from prison was read. Güven's message is as follows: "Our esteemed people, we all say 'enough is enough' to the oppression, war and injustice. We see that our people are isolated in the person of Mr. Öcalan and that the isolation is spreading to all prisons. We don't need no one's mercy in our rightful struggle. As the Kurdish women, we say we will step into a new century with national unity in Bakur, Bashur, Rojhilat and Rojava. This is our promise to our veteran people, we will resist everywhere, taking our epic struggle as reference.

	 

	EMPHASIS ON RADICAL DEMOCRACY

	 

	With global radical democracy, we will achieve a socialist, democratic and free society in the Middle East. We will achieve this with the leadership of the women resisting with our own strenghth. As the political prisoners in Turkish prisons, we say, we will never let the AKP-MHP fascist government, or CHP and its friends to rob the hopes of our people. We clearly and unequivocally state that while the suffering inflicted on our people is so fresh, we do not have to stand next to or around any order party.
