Muharrem Aksem's death brought before the Parliament 2022-03-28 12:35:41 ANKARA - HDP MPs Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu asked Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu about Muharrem Aksem's death in the place where special operations police were conducting target practice in Urfa.   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Kocaeli MPs Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu stated that Muharrem Aksem (16), who was a shepherd in the Eyyübiye district of Urfa, was found dead on March 23 at the place where the special operations police were performing target practice brough to the parliamentary agenda. Tabling a parliamentary question for the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu to answer, Gergerlioğlu reminded that Aksem was found dead in the place where the special operations police were performing target practice.   'AUTOPSY REPORT WAS NOT GIVEN'   In the parliamentary question, where it was stated that Aksem was taken to the Mehmet Akif Inan Research Hospital morgue after the procedures in Urfa Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK), regarding the videos recorded by the shepherds 3 months ago, it was stated, "The footage shows that the police were performing target practice at the place where Aksem died, resulting from an injury, ambulances is seen arriving at the scene. It is also seen in the footage that smoke rises from the scene."     ‘WAS AN INVESTIGATION STARTED?’     Gergerlioğlu asked Soylu the following questions:     “*Are the above-mentioned claims true?     * If these allegations are true, has an investigation been initiated?     *If these allegations are true, did the police deliberately and willingly kill Muharrem Aksem ?   *What was the cause of death of Muharrem Aksem in the Forensic Medicine Institute?   * Were bullet cores found in Muharrem Aksem's body and at the crime scene?   *Is it an area established for the police by the Governor's Office, where it is stated that they are performing target practice, or is it an area where shooting is done randomly? If the permission of the Governor's Office and security measures are not taken, can the police perform target practice at their own discretion? If so, what law and regulation is it based on?   * Have ballistics studies been carried out on the subject?   *Are the bullets in Muharrem Aksem's body based on Police records?   *How many police investigations have been opened so far? How many cops were suspended?   * Are there any eyewitnesses about the subject? If there are eye-witnesses, have they been heard?”
