Psychologist asks prisoner, 'You will commit suicide, right?'

	SİİRT - 70-year-old Mehmet Emin Çam, who is being held in a cell in the prison, was asked during the doctor's examination if he was going to commit suicide.

	When he reacted to the psychologist who said that the doctor told him he was joking.

	 

	70-year-old Mehmet Emin Çam, who was detained and arrested following a police raid on his house in Siirt on March 14, was put in a cell alone in Batman Type M Closed Prison. It was claimed that Çam, who was arrested despite having various health problems, psychologist was taken to him for examination and the psychologist asked him, "You are going to commit suicide, aren't you?"

	 

	Çam's daughter Şimel Çam, who explained that her father, who was arrested with the allegation of "taking part in the KCK City Council structure" in 2012 when he was the Siirt Provincial Chair of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), was released after being detained for 10 months. Çam was later handed over a 9 year prison sentence and sent to Batman Type M Prison.

	 

	Çam's daughter stated that her father, who has a tumor in his brain, a cyst in his kidney, and whose gallbladder was surgically removed, has to use blood thinners for life, as well as constantly taking painkillers. Çam said that Mehmet Emin told his lawyer that there was neither a desk nor a chair, that he was pressured every day to transfer to the  "informant" ward.

	 

	Sharing that her father, who had difficulty standing up and even speaking when she visited him on March 25, told about the approaches of the administration in prison, Şimel Çam said, “They are forcing him to stand up during counts. They said that he cannot count with slippers and tracksuits in the morning and evening counts. They are forcing him to get dressed."

	 

	THE PURPOSE IS TO DRIVE HIM SUICIDE

	 

	Şimel Çam stated, her father who was taken to the infirmary twice because of his illness, and that the psychologist of the infirmary asked him "You're going to commit suicide, aren't you?". Çam said: "My father told him how could a doctor say that and the doctor told him he was joking. How can a pschologist say something like that? They are trying to drive him to suicide."

	 

	Şimel Çam called out the authorities to release her father, who is not fit to remain in prison.
