Mehmet Öcalan: The politics of the Barzani family makes Kurds lose 2022-04-26 10:01:27   URFA - Stating that the attacks against the border are not independent of the Imrali isolation, Mehmet Öcalan said, “Barzani cannot lead the Kurds by fighting the Kurds. The policy of the Barzani family is making the Kurds lose.”   Seeking a "solution" to the Kurdish problem in its war policies, AKP along with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), launched a wave of attacks on the Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region on April 17. The AKP, which ended the talks held with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan between 2013 and 2015, put into effect the policy of incomunicado in İmralı F Type Prison. Deepening the isolation on Öcalan with bans on  family and lawyer visits, the AKP continues the concept of total war against the Kurds, which it started on July 24, 2015, with KDP-backed attacks that started on April 17. Abdullah Öcalan's brother Mehmet Öcalan, who last had an "interrupted" phone call with Öcalan on March 25, 2021, made assessments to the Mesopotamia Agency (MA) about the isolation, which he pointed to as the main reason for the ongoing war across the border.   POLICIES OF STATE-GOVERNMENT   Stating that the policies implemented in Imrali are carried out by the state-government, Öcalan said, “There may have been a difference between them in the past, but now there is absolutely no difference. The state-government must abide by their own laws. There are laws, but those laws are trampled on. There is a special law for persons held in Imrali. This is unacceptable. They have to respect their laws, they can't rule this country like this."   INTERNATIONAL SILENCE   Ocalan, who condemned the international silence on the isolation in Imrali, said that the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), which he criticized for not fulfilling its duty, is working in partnership with Turkey. Referring to the role of international forces in the Imrali isolation, Öcalan said, “Many states have a hand in the international conspiracy. These forces are blind, deaf and dumb against the isolation today."   THE LINK BETWEEN ISOLATION AND WAR    Pointing out that the isolation is directly linked with the war, Öcalan said that the whole world stood up for the war that has been going on for two months between Ukraine and Russia, but there is still a state of silence against the war in the Federated Kurdistan Region. Öcalan said, “As in the isolation policy, the most important supporter of war policies is NATO. This war is directly linked with the isolation in Imrali. Every time I went to İmralı, Mr. Öcalan pointed to a solution through democratic politics. He doesn't want bloodshed. If Mr. Öcalan had spoken, there would be no war right now.”   'ISOLATION MUST BE LIFTED'   Öcalan, who also condemned the opposition acting together with the government, said, “They have been complaining about 'terror' for 44 years. Killing is not the solution. The Kurds have democratic rights." Pointing out that the war policies also deepened the existing economic crisis, Öcalan continued his words as follows: “People are hungry and thirsty. But trillions of dollars are spent on war. No one should remain silent in the face of this huge human's rights violation. This is happening because the state does not want a democratic solution. In order for the wars to end, the isolation must first be lifted, and then Mr. Öcalan must be freed physically."   'BARZANİ IS MAKING THE KURDS LOSE'   Stating that the aggravated isolation is harming the peoples, Öcalan said, “This will affect the entire Middle East. Peace is necessary for all peoples. People's demand is peace, no one wants war." Reminding that the PKK Leader emphasized the importance of national unity at every opportunity, Öcalan said the following regarding the "extermination of the Kurds" policy carried out by the KDP with Turkey: "The Barzanis only think about their families. Barzani cannot lead the Kurds by fighting the Kurds. The policy of the Barzani family is making the Kurds lose. The Kurds will not forget and forgive it. The Kurds see the truth.”     MA / Ceylan Şahinli
