HDP Hewler Representative: Kurdish-Arab alliance is important against Turkkish attacks 2022-06-01 13:15:06   NEWS CENTER - HDP Hewlêr Representative Nahide Ermiş stated that the second step of Turkey's "Neo-Ottomanism" plans is Arab lands and underlined the importance of the Kurdish-Arab alliance against it.   While Turkey continues its attacks against the Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn regions in cooperation with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), it organizes assassinations and attacks against Kurds in the region. Targeting civilian settlements, Turkey recently murdered Kurdish politician Zeki Çelebi in the city of Slemani. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Hewlêr Representative Nahide Ermiş stated that the attacks and assassinations against Kurds are part of Turkey's "Neo-Ottomanism" plans and underlined the importance of the Kurdish-Arab alliance against it.   GENOCIDE ATTEMPT     Stating that the policy of genocide is in practice in the Federated Kurdistan Region, Ermiş said that the assassination of Zeki Çelebi was also a message to the Kurds living in the region. Expressing that there are attacks based on destruction against Kurds, Ermiş said, “Turkey's hostility against Kurds has been going on for a hundred years. The murder of our friend Zeki Çelebi is also a part of this concept. The Kurdish people are also struggling against these policies. The murder of Zeki Çelebi is an attack on all Kurds struggling for their freedom. They want to create fear in the Kurds. We come from a 50-year tradition of struggle. Policies of fear and oppression will not yield results. We will carry out a more organized struggle against all these policies."   KDP'S HOSTILE POLICIES   Pointing out that the perpetrators of assassinations against Kurds in the Federated Kurdistan Region were not revealed, Ermiş said, “The events that took place should be clarified and the murderers should be exposed. We are no strangers to assassinations. We represent HDP here and our work continues in this direction. In the south, PDK maintains the same policy as Turkey and follows a hostile policy towards the people."   THE SILENCE OF THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT   Mentioning the silence of the Iraqi government against Turkey's assassinations and attacks, Ermiş said, “There is a so called government in Iraq, but there actually is no government. Iraqi politics is full of chaos. The government turns this chaos into an opportunity in Turkey. It benefits from political, ethnic, sectarian, economic and other conflicts. The main reason for these problems is Turkey's presence in the region."   THE IMPORTANCE OF KURDISH- ARAB ALLIANCE   Emphasizing that Turkey's attacks on the Federated Kurdistan Region in cooperation with the KDP are also the occupation of Iraqi lands, Ermiş said, “We are talking about the New Ottoman Empire. The first step of this policy is the occupation of Kurdish lands, and the second step is the occupation of Iraqi lands. After the occupation of Kurdistan, it will be the turn of the Arab states. This is the neo-Ottoman strategy and policy. That's why we say that the Kurdish-Arab alliance and dialogue is important.  We see what happened in Syria. It is not just an attack against the Autonomous Administration and Syria. The target is Bashur and Rojava now, Libya and other states will be next. Nobody should say that Turkey's problem is only with the Kurds. This process should be well observed. Kurds are being targeted now because they are the ones fighting against Turkey's invasion."
