Social rights of imprisoned journalists are blocked

	Diyarbakir - Journalists imprisoned in Diyarbakir Prison said that there had been a systematic water cut in the last 3 days, their rights to social activities were blocked, and their letters were blocked.

	 

	16 journalists who were arrested on June 16 as part of the investigation carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the allegation of "being a member of a terrorist organisation", conveyed the rights violations they get through in prison. Journalists described the rights violations in the prison in the closed meeting yesterday and they said that there had been water cuts in the last 3 days. Journalists stated that water flows for 2 to 4 hours a day, and that the prison administration put forward the justifications of "there is a malfunction" or "the warehouse is being cleaned".

	Journalists said that their social activity rights were also blocked. It has been learned that the social event activity, in which the prisoners come together for one hour once a week, is held for one hour once a month. Upon the objection of imprisoned journalists, the prison administration claimed that there would be a "security" problem, citing FETO members as their reason.
