Crisis deepens in Iraq: The solution is not in the west, but on the third way 2022-09-16 11:43:54   NEWS CENTER - Journalist Mervan Özdemir, who said that the Kazımi administration, Turkey and KDP cooperation deepened the crisis in Iraq, stated that the solution is implementing the third way, not the west state which left the solution to Taliban.   It has been 10 months since the early general elections held in Iraq on October 10, 2021. However, neither a government was formed nor a new president could be elected. After the Sadr Movement Leader Muqtada es Sadr announced that he was withdrawing from politics, the uncertainty in the country became even more intractable. Protest demonstrations against unemployment, corruption and the inadequacy of public services are spreading. Journalist Mervan Özdemir evaluated the crisis and the latest developments.   SADR IS CLOSED TO DIALOGUE   Stating that some problems have arisen in all of the elections held in the country in recent years, Özdemir said: "The main reason for the increasing confusion in recent years is the fight between the powers that have turned into a 'slaughter machine'. This problem comes to the fore today under the name of the Sadr Movement and the Shiite Coordination Framework in Iraq. As it is known, the early parliamentary elections in Iraq took place on October 10, 2021. Although the name is early, this election took about 2 years due to the insurmountable political crises in Iraq. These corruptions have developed in the Coordination Framework by the Sadr Movement. Since the beginning, Sadr has been opposing the Coordination Framework with the slogan of 'a government that is not dependent on foreign powers, not involved in corruption'. He has closed all the doors of dialogue and negotiation."   KDP'S CANDIDATE   Stating that Sadr played an important role in the failure of the government to be formed, Özdemir said: "Sadr managed to become the majority group in the early elections. However, despite the alliance he formed with the KDP and Sunnis to form the government, he could not obtain the necessary majority. While Sadr said that he would fight corruption and mobilized his masses on this basis, he formed an alliance with the KDP, whose name is equated with corruption in Iraq and Kurdistan. Hosyar Zebari, whom the KDP nominated to Sadr as its presidential candidate, is a person who was dismissed from his position as the Minister of Finance in Iraq due to corruption. Contradictory and ironic developments like this prevented Sadr from forming a government.”   PURPOSE OF SADR   Saying that the Sadr Movement mobilized the people by using weapons, Özdemir said: "The Coordination Framework came very close to forming a government. However, this time Sadr mobilized his mass, which he used as a weapon. Sadr said that although the reason for the protests was the name given by the Coordination Framework for the Prime Ministerial candidate. (Muhammad Shiya Sudani), although the names are purely an excuse. Sadr makes a show of strength and gives the message that even though he has resigned, the establishment of the government and Iraqi politics cannot be done without him. He even gives the message that the state cannot function without him. When we look at Sadr's actions, We see that the three main organs of the state, namely the judiciary, the legislative and the executive, are rendered dysfunctional.   KDP-TURKEY COOPERATION   Expressing that the cooperation between the KDP and Turkey was also effective in the failure of the government to be formed, Özdemir said: "Of course, one of the main sources of the existing problem is the KDP. When we look at the actions of the KDP in the Kurdistan Region and the partnerships it has developed, it is more possible to understand which countries are most benefitting from the situation. One of the last actions of the KDP was to remove the map of Kurdistan in Zakxo University. At the request or instruction of the Turkish state, the KDP removed the map showing the political borders of the four parts of Kurdistan, deleting Mosul and Kirkuk and left the map of the Kurdistan Region. It would leave even Sulaymaniyah out of this map, leaving only Duhok and Hewlêr under its control on the map. The relationship and cooperation that the KDP developed with the Turkish state is one of the most effective reasons for what is happening in Iraq."   SOLUTION: THIRD WAY   Stating that the chaos in Iraq could be eliminated with the implementation of the 3rd way, Özdemir said: "There is talk of a method that is described as the third way in the Middle East today and that develops a solution for the problems in Syria and Iraq to repeat itself. This method is used in Rojava. was implemented in Shengal and Makxmur, and its effectiveness has been proven.   Third way; It is the alternative theory that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan developed against the system that destroyed the colors, languages and beliefs and violated labor. Today, the people of the Middle East are manipulated, creating the perception that the solution is in the West. What happened in Afghanistan is in front of everyone's eyes. We have seen how the 'savior' west has left the poor, women and children at the mercy of a dark organisation like the Taliban."   Özdemir continued as follows: "One of the most urgent needs for the peoples of the Middle East is to implement the third way. Now is the time of peoples and women in the Middle East. The 'scholars' of the west, who live in their comfortable spaces with the values they stole from the east, cannot bring freedom to the women who are fighting for freedom against the darkness of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Iraq will win with the self-power of the peoples, by implementing the third road, and will be freed from this darkness.”
