Akarsel's body was carried to Hewler on the shoulders of women. 2022-10-08 16:57:18   NEWS CENTER - The remains of Nagihan Akarsel, a member of the Jineology Research Center who was murdered in Sulaymaniyah, was on the way to Hewler to be brought to Konya on the shoulders of women.   The remains of Jineology Research Center member and Jineology editor Nagihan Akarsel, who was murdered as a result of the armed attack in the city of Soleimaniyah in the Federated Kurdistan Region on October 4, was set off on the shoulders of women to be taken to Hewler.   Many people, especially women, gathered for Akarsel at the Ecê Xanim Hall in Sulaymaniyah. Speaking at the funeral, Necibe Qeredaxî, a member of the Jineology Academy, said: “The bullet that was fired against Nagihan today may be shot at you and your family tomorrow. No one should deceive themselves in the Kurdistan Region. Everyone would be in danger under these conditions."   The message of the Kurdistan National Congress Women's Committee was also read at the funeral, where the slogans of "Jin jiyan azadi" were shouted. We demand that the Iraqi Government, the Kurdistan Region Administration and the relevant parties do not make concessions to Turkey regarding this file.”   'WE WILL GROW THE REVOLUTION'   Speaking at the ceremony, Seywan Rostem, who is a member of the Kurdistan Women's Union, said: "You cannot finish the work of women by murdering Nagihan. Such murders will cause us to further enlarge the revolution, the struggle for rights and freedom.”   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak MP Hüseyin Kaçmaz addressed the Southern Kurdistan authorities and said, "The perpetrators of these terrorist attacks must be revealed and new attacks must be prevented."   THE REMAINS OF NAGIHAN SET OUT HEWLER   After the speeches, the remains set out Hewler. Nagihan Akarsel's body will be flown to Ankara and then to Konya, where he was born, after the legal proceedings are completed in Hewlêr.
