Kurds before the Council of Europe: End isolation, freedom for Abdullah Öcalan 2022-10-10 16:07:38   NEWS CENTER - Kurds launched a sit-in in front of the Council of Europe demanding an end to the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and his physical freedom.   The Kurds, who came together with the call of the European Democratic Kurdish Society Congress (KCDK-E), started a 4-day sit-in in front of the European Council headquarters in Strasbourg, France. People demanded an end to the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and his physical freedom.   FILE WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE   The sit-in started in front of the Council of Europe with a group of 100 people from Switzerland, including many representatives of institutions. In addition, the group will present the file containing violations such as PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan's demand for physical freedom, the Imrali isolation system, the "right to hope" exemption and the state of not being heard, to the Council of Europe.   CPT WILL BE MET   Former Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chairs Hatip Dicle and Selma Irmak and HDP former MPs Ertuğrul Kürkçü, Faysal Sarıyıldız, Dilek Öcalan and Nursel Aydoğan also took part in the demonstration. The delegation will attend the French Left Party group meeting to be held at the Council of Europe in the evening. As part of the demonstratin, the delegation will meet with the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) on Wednesday.
