War budget increased 100 percent 2022-12-09 15:12:38   ANKARA - HDP Deputy Şevin Coşkun pointed out that the defense and security budget, which was 45 billion at the time of the talks with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, was allocated 460 billion TL in 2023.   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Mûş MP Şevin Coşkun, who took the floor in the General Assembly of the Assembly on the budget of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the 2023 Central Government Budget Bill, stated that the budget prepared by the AKP is the budget of waste, pomp and the Palace. In this budget; Disabled people whose number exceeds 10 million, millions of workers, women, youth, students, children and farmers are not included. This budget is a budget prepared with a focus on the palace, war, supporters and elections.     Noting that 230 billion TL in 2022 and 460 billion TL in 2023 with an increase of 100 percent have been allocated for military expenditures, Coşkun said: “In this budget, 1 TL of 8 TL will go to war. However, between 2013 and 2015, when the negotiations with İmralı were carried out, the budget allocated to armament and security in 2014 was 45 billion TL, which is less than one-tenth of the budget allocated in the 2023 budget proposal. For this reason, we say 'no' to this budget against war, pillage, poverty and gender discrimination."   'SOLUTION BUDGET' PROPOSAL   Stating that the government had no words to say to the peoples of Turkey on the way to the elections, Coşkun said: “The aim of the government in this budget is not to facilitate the lives of the peoples and raise their welfare, but to revive their supporters and maintain their own capital regime. We do not accept this budget brought by the government. For this reason, as HDP, we express that our solution budget, which is in favor of the peoples, the oppressed, the ignored, the women, the youth, peace, justice and democracy, is the only solution.”   (
