Arab Initiative for Freedom for Öcalan to convene with agenda of isolation 2022-12-16 10:12:42   NEWS CENTER - Îlham El Milêcî, a member of the Arab Initiative for Freedom for Öcalan, stated that they will convene for PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and make a joint statement.   Since 25 March 2021, no news has been heard from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is being held in aggravated isolation in İmralı Type F Closed Prison. Applications made by lawyers and families are not responded to. Egyptian political analyst and member of the Arab Initiative for Freedom for Öcalan, Îlham El Milêdcî evaluated the isolation for the Hawar News Agency (ANHA). El Milecî stated that he is in a "suspicious" position due to the Council of Europe Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) keeping silent about the isolation. El Milecî emphasized that detainees should meet with their families and that this is their right. El Milêcî said: "This situation is very worrying and therefore all parties responsible for human rights should take action to put pressure on the Turkish state and pave the way for visits to learn about the situation of Leader Abdullah Öcalan."   El Milêcî emphasized that human rights organizations should put pressure on Turkey for Öcalan's to be visited by his lawyers and family. Emphasizing that they are making some preparations for this issue, El Milêcî said that Arab intellectuals, politicians, deputies, journalists and academics will announce their stance on the issue in a joint statement.   Pointing out that the initiative will convene online next Saturday, El Milêcî shared that a meeting will be held with the title "Öcalan: Absolute Isolation, International Silence and Humanitarian Calls". El Milêcî said that international silence will also be discussed at this meeting.
