Scores detained in front of French Consulate following massacre in Paris 2022-12-26 14:39:52   İSTANBUL- Artists and politicians who wanted to protest the Paris attack in front of the French consulate were detained following a police attack. HDP's Musa Piroğlu stated that the government is the power behind the perpetrators in this massacre.   Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Culture and Art Council protested the massacre in Paris, the capital of France. The demonstration that was intended to be carried out in front of the French Consulate in Taksim was blocked by the police without any reason.   The crowd consisting of members of Mesopotamia Cultural Center (MKM), Science Education Aesthetic Culture and Art Research Foundation (BEKSAV), Shadow Culture and Art Center (GKSM), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Deputy Musa Piroğlu, as well as representatives of many political parties and non-governmental organizations were blocked by the police. While the protesters were blockaded by the police, the journalists following the demonstration were removed from the area.   The artists and protesters who insisted on continuing the demonstration were detained by the police who handcuffed them behind the back.    'THE GOVERNMENT IS THE ACCOMPLICE'   Protesting the police attack in which scores of people were detained, Piroğlu told that blocking the demonstration is the same as what France did by releasing the perpetrator of the massacre. Expressing that governments all over the world do the same thing, Piroğlu said, “The murderers are walking on the streets, massacres are being committed. However, protesting these massacres is prohibited. As long as the French government does not reveal the perpetrators of the massacre, it should know that it is an accomplice. The police and this government that prevent these press releases are the accomplices of this massacre and the dark forces behind the perpetrators. If there is no reckoning with the murderers, the massacres will continue. We did not, and will not, give up in the face of these massacres. Eventually, we will hold them to account before the judiciary."
