The risk is high at Kartalkaya Dam: The caps may explode 2023-02-12 13:28:41   DİYARBAKIR - While deep crevices are formed on the cover of Kartalkaya Dam, which is located in pazarcık district of Maraş, and on the roads passing by it, nothing is done to the public except for the warning "don't use this place".   Large and deep crevices pose a risk on the cover of Kartalkaya Dam and the roads passing by it, caused by the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes that occurred in the Pazarcık district of Maraş. At the same time, it was learned that a "don't use this place" warning was given by the authorities regarding the road where many settlements were connected, but no study was carried out on how to reach earthquake victims.   WARNING, NO INTEREST   People in the area where the rifts were formed and faced great risk shared the following information with our agency through volunteers: “They (search and rescue teams) made a slight correction with the bucket while they were coming. You saw that road when you came. We receive a warning 'do not use this threshold'. Well, how can the citizens here go? What kind of support do you get here? What kind of food comes here? So that road must be done. But the only information that comes to us is 'do not use it here'. So, how will people here move to the city when they're ill? How will it be moved to another place?”
