Mehmet Zengeralp, who been imprisoned for 30 years, been released 2023-04-03 15:14:25   İSTANBUL - Mehmet Zengeralp, who was held in Bandırma Prison No. 1, was released after 30 years.   Mehmet Zengeralp, who was detained in Balıkesir Bandırma Prison No. 1, was released today after 30 years of detention. Zengeralp, who was brought to Amed(Diyarbakır) after being detained in Şırnak in 1993, was given a life sentence in the case filed at the State Security Court (DGM) for "destroying the unity and integrity of the state". Zengeralp was transferred to Amed(Diyarbakır), Wan(Van), Erzirom(Erzurum), Muş, Tekirdağ and finally Balıkkesir Bandırma Prison during his 30-year detention.   The release of Zengeralp, who suffered from herniated disc and stomach ailments due to prison conditions, was extended for 3 months on the grounds that he shouted slogans 3 months ago. Zengeralp, who came out of the prison at the age of 26 and came out at the age of 56, was greeted by the administrators of the Marmara Association for Assistance and Solidarity with the Families of Prisoners and Convicts (MA-TUHAYDER) and his relatives in front of the prison.   Speaking after the meeting, Zengeralp stated that he was experiencing a bittersweet joy and said: "When all our friends in prison come out, this feeling will be completed."   Zengeralp then set out with his relatives to go to Amed.
