Women participate in the sit-in of Life 2023-04-04 14:12:25 HATAY - 75-year-old Mecide Horoz, who participated in the "The sit-in of Life" launched in Samandağ, condemned the rubble spilled into their living spaces and said: "We want to stay on our land."   The sit-in of Life was launched yesterday against the rubble poured into the agricultural fields in Deniz Mahallesi of Hatay's Samandağ district. The people stated that the sit-in of Life will continue every day until the "Asbestos regulation" is implemented and the debris is poured away from their living areas, in accordance with scientific reports.   Kübra Suadiye, one of the women in the sit-in of Life, said: "The rubble has been poured into places close to residential areas since the day it started to be removed. This situation endangers the health of earthquake victims staying in tent cities. It affects both people and other living things. We demand that this rubble be removed from here before the dust spreads, and that human life is not endangered. That's why we gathered here, we want the necessary action to be taken."   'ASBEST INCREASE THE RISK OF CANCER'   Nilgün Aşkar, on the other hand, stated that asbestos causes cancer and said: "This is a scary thing. This means that people who did not die in the earthquake would crawl away in a very short time and die in much worse conditions. They do not use scientific methods, they condemn us to death,"
