Hamburg Conference organizers: We Want Our World Back 2023-04-07 14:54:03 NEWS CENTER - At the conference held in Hamburg with the slogan "Challenging Capitalist Modernity", "what kind of a world" is wanted to be built in the light of Abdullah Öcalan's ideas was discussed.   The 4th conference, organized with the slogan "Challenging Capitalist Modernity", where the thoughts of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan were discussed, started in Hamburg yesterday. The conference is organized by the "Network for an Alternative Quest", which includes Kurdish and German organizations. It is planned to be held at Hamburg University, but Rector Prof. It started at the Wilhelmsburg Bürgerhaus (Wilhelmsburg town hall), after Hauke Heekeren refused to allow it.   ‘HOW CAN THE ORGANIZATION WANT A FREE WORLD BECOME A TERRORIST’   Reimer Heider from the preparatory committee and spokesperson of the Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Initiative also made a speech. Heider, who started his speech by protesting the ban of Hamburg University, noted that the PKK is not a "terrorist" organization.  Heider said: “We want to build our own world. The purpose of this conference is the same. We wanted to do it at the University of Hamburg, but the German intelligence prevented it. They say this conference is close to extremist ideas. It is close to the PKK idea. They always tell me that I am close to the PKK. It is difficult for everyone to immediately answer yes or no. We want freedom. They want an equal and free world. They want a world where women, young people, feminists, people want to live freely. Why should bad things happen when the PKK wants them? How can an organization that wants such a thing be a terrorist?   'THE STATUS OF ÖCALAN IS THE PROBLEM OF GLOBAL POWERS'   Scottish Writer James Kelman, who made the last speech of the first day of the conference, conveyed the situation of the Kurds held in prisons in Turkey. Drawing attention to the situation of thousands of Kurds, Kelman said: “Abdullah Öcalan has a situation. Some compare his situation to that of Nelson Mandela. But this is not true. Mandela stayed with his friends. He could hold meetings. He did interviews. When he was released, the ban on his party was lifted. Nelson Mandela had a country and he went to his country. But Mr. Öcalan's situation is different. Even if Öcalan is released and the ban on his party is lifted, where will he go? The issue of Mr. Öcalan is a matter of global powers. Global powers are blocking the solution. We should focus on this. People and states are different. If we do not notice, we cannot reach the truth. I do not think that Mr. Öcalan did anything bad against Greece and France. But those states betrayed Mr. Öcalan for their own interests. I do not accept it. We do not accept this. This is not just a conspiracy. To call it conspiracy is to alleviate the situation. It is a bad job of global powers. Global powers only think about their own interests, namely property. They have no feelings, no friends, no friendships. There is only one thing for them and that is property, profit."   ON THE SECOND DAY OF THE CONFERENCE   The series of conferences titled “We Want Our World Back”, “Resist, Reclaim and Rebuild”, “Make Autonomous Education and Organize” continues on its second day.   Representatives of Kurdish Institutions, HDP Mardin MP Ebru Günay, former HDP MP Hatip Dicle, think tanks, writers and thinkers from different countries as well as representatives of German organizations attended the conference. A "Jin Jiyan Azadi" banner was hung at the entrance of the conference hall, while Abdullah Öcalan's photo and photographs of YPG internationalist fighters who attended previous conferences and lost their lives fighting against ISIS were hung. The conference started with a presentation by Irish Gael Feirste, traditional Irish musicians and dance performers based in Belfast. Then govend took the stage. “Jin, jiyan azadi” slogans were raised in the hall.   The conference will continue with presentations titled "Eco-System" and "Struggle Against Social Crime".
