Release of 30-year prisoner İldem postponed for 3 months 2023-08-01 14:09:07   MARDİN - The release of Ramazan İldem, a 30-year prisoner held in Bafra Type T Closed Prison, has been delayed for 3 months.   The release of Ramazan İldem, who was detained and arrested in July 1993 in the Qoser (Kızıltepe) district of Mêrdîn, was delayed. The Prison Administration and Monitoring Board (IGK) stated that Ildem, who was held in Bafra Type T Closed Prison and was expected to be released on July 4, was not in good behavior.   8 PRISONS IN 30 YEARS   Ildem, who was detained and arrested in Qoser in July 1993 at the age of 22, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Diyarbakır State Security Court (DGM) on charges of "destroying the Unity and Integrity of the State". Ildem, who was first held in prison in Mardîn, was then held in Bartın, Amed(Diyarbakır), Yozgat, Mardîn, Erzurum, Bartın and Bafra prisons, respectively.   'MY SON DOES NOT GIVE UP'   Condemning what happened, İldem's 75-year-old mother, Halime İldem, reminded that her son was arrested 30 years ago after his name was given by a person on the grounds of his political activities, and said: "Still, we do not regret it. Nothing will happen. Now his 30 years are in prison." Noting that her son has been held in many prisons in 30 years and she continues to see him every time, mother Ildem said: "We were waiting to bring him home after 30 years were over. We made our preparations, we were going to meet him. He phoned and said he was sentenced for another 3 months."   Noting that she will not return from her struggle no matter what happens, mother Ildem said: "I do not regret it no matter what happens because injustice is being done. They are the enemy, my son does not give up. Despite everything, my wish is that my son should take care of his cause, his work, and his language. I believe that his friends and him are honorable. They are fighting for their case. We are fighting for it, too. There is nothing better than this. Will he leave everything to get out of prison and step aside. No such thing. I will not accept it at first. I will not leave the effort for our fight.
