Release of the prisoner who refused to 'repentance' postponed for the 3rd time 2023-10-19 12:16:27   ŞIRNEX - The release of Naif İşçi, who has been arrested for 13 years in the prison he entered as a child, was postponed for the third time on the grounds that he did not accept the imposition of "repentance".   Naif İşçi (28) was detained and arrested during a raid on his house in the Cizîr (Cizre) district of Şirnex in 2010, when he was only 15 years old. The worker was sentenced to 24 years in prison in the case where he was tried on allegations of "committing a crime on behalf of a terrorist organization without being a member of it", "making propaganda for the terrorist organization", "violating the law on meetings and demonstrations" and "possession and transportation of dangerous substances without permission". Having completed his sentence period, İşçi was supposed to be released approximately 6 months ago; however, the release of İşçi was postponed twice by the Prison Administrative and Observation Board. Due to the board's decision, İşçi was expected to be released within this month. The family stated that the release of İşçi was postponed for the third time for another 3 months.   It was learned that the reason for the postponement was the Worker's refusal to accept the imposition of "repentance". İşçi, who is currently held in Ahlat Type T Closed Prison, is also on the list of ill prisoners. İşçi has platinum on his foot because he was seriously injured in a traffic accident before his arrest.   LIVING WITH PLATINUM FOR 13 YEARS   Condemning the postponement of her son's release, mother Nebahat İşçi said that she made preparations for her son, but this happiness did not last long. Mother İşçi said: "I feel equally happy whenever an ill prisoner is released from prison. I told my son that we were happy for him to be released from prison and that we were making preparations; however, he also told me that his release was postponed."   Stating that If there is justice, rights and law in this country, the state will release her son, İşçi mother said: "My son had stomach problems and had been living with a platinum in his leg for 13 years. Before he was arrested, the doctor said, 'We will remove the platinum after 6 months.' But my son has had platinum in his leg for 13 years. Platinum and bone became one. One of his legs is long and the other is short. He cannot meet his needs. He cannot be held in prison any longer. They do not treat. Today, there are hundreds of prisoners who are ill in their eyes, legs and arms. These people caught these diseases in prison."   'THE MOTIVATION IS HIGH'   Stating that the postponement of her son's release is "against the law", the mother İşçi said: "The state is punishing our children illegally. The prisoners are serving their sentences, but they are still not released. Our children should be released. They do not have the right to burn our children's execution and extend their sentences. When I went to his last visit, my son's condition was bad. He was having difficulty standing. But their motivation is high. If they released our children, we would treat them ourselves. We want peace and tranquility, we do not want any mother to shed tears."
