Call from Mothers for Peace for 'Great Freedom March' 2024-01-31 15:50:10 ANKARA - Calling for participation in the "Great Freedom March" that will start tomorrow, Mothers for Peace said: "The Kurds are behind their Leader until their last breath."   Mothers for Peace, who continue the Justice Watch they started in many cities within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign, came to Ankara yesterday to meet with the Minister of Justice. However, the mothers' demand for a meeting was not accepted. Mothers for Peace who left the city after the meeting did not take place, called for participation in the "Great March for Freedom" that will start tomorrow.   Peace Mother Ayşe Elegaş, who came from Adana, drew attention to the "absolute isolation" in Imralı Prison and said: "Our current effort is for the Leader (Abdullah Ocalan) and the prisoners in the dungeons. We, as mothers, will do whatever we can. We stand by our Leader, our prisoners, and our people. We salute the 'Freedom March' that will be launched tomorrow.”   ‘STOP THE BLOODSHED’   Mother for Peace, Fatma Çığ, who came from Adana, stated that the country has neither justice nor law and said: “The Kurds stand behind their Leader until their last breath. We want the four people who took us from nothing to existence.” Reminding that the Ministry of Justice did not accept meeting demands, Çığ said: “We want this bloodshed to stop. Let the mothers of the police and soldiers come too, let's join hands and stop this bloodshed. No more bloodshed, let justice and law come.”   CALL TO CPT: DO YOUR DUTY   Mother for Peace, Sultan Azboyu, who came from Êlih, also touched on the ongoing hunger strike of the prisoners and said: “They are our children. We need to go out to the streets and areas. In recent years, we took a step back by taking to the streets and squares. We cannot achieve results by sitting at home.”   Reminding the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) about its responsibility, Azboyu said: “We stand tall with Kurds and our Kurdishness. The country is our country, why are we prisoners and escapees in our own country? We want the gates of Imralı and other prisons to be opened. We want the isolation to be abolished and negotiations to begin. My call to human rights and CPT is this; Do your duty. Since you gave the Leader to Turkey, ask about the rights and laws. You are complicit by remaining silent. As a mother, I condemn the attitude of CPT. The Kurds people will not accept this situation.” Calling for participation in the "Great Freedom March" that will start tomorrow from Wan and Kars, Azboyu said:  "This march is important for us. I call on everyone support this march. This walk is our presence and absence.”   Mother for Peace Şerbet Altık, who came to Ankara from Mersin, said: “There is an intense war on the Kurds. Our language and identity are ignored. But let it be known that no matter how long this struggle lasts, the Kurds will win.”
