Raid on Colemêrg Municipality, detention to Co-Mayor

	COLEMÊRG – The police, who blockaded the Colemêrg Municipality at night, raided the municipality in the morning. Co-Mayor Mehmet Sıddık Akış was taken into custody.

	 

	According to the information obtained, around 23:00 at night, Colemêrg Municipality, which was won by the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) in the 31 March Local Elections, was blockaded by hundreds of police. All streets where the municipality is located and leading to the municipality were closed to traffic by the police. It was claimed that the doors of the municipality were broken down and raided in the early hours of the morning after the blockade, and all institution heads were called to urgent duty. It was learned that Colemêrg Co-Mayor Mehmet Sıddık Akış was also detained in Wan.
