Statements of support for general strike in Rojhilat 2024-09-11 14:15:12 NEWS CENTER- The call for a general strike for the anniversary of Jîna Emînî's death has received support from many groups.  Political parties, civil organizations and human rights activists from Rojhilat called for a general strike on September 16, the second anniversary of Jîna Emînî's murder by Iranian regime forces. Many organizations and communities stated in their statements that they will participate in the general strike and called for the strike to be expanded.   The statement of the Justice Mothers of Kurdistan said: “September 16 is the anniversary of the martyrdom of Jîna Emînî and the beginning of the great revolution in which our loved ones and children sacrificed their lives for the sake of victory. On the eve of the second anniversary of the martyrdom of the Kurdish people and the beginning of our revolution, we support the call for a strike by Kurdish civil activists and call on all families to embrace and visit the graves of our loved ones. We ask the people of Kurdistan to stay at home, not go to work, close shops and markets on September 16.”   SUPPORT FROM 20 ORGANIZATIONS   20 civil society organizations announced their support for the protests in a joint statement. The joint statement said that since Emînî's murder, Rojhilat and Iran have faced the highest level of human rights violations and called on the international community to be sensitive to these violations.
