Michael Hardt: I recognize and support decision of Öcalan

	ANKARA - "I recognize and support Öcalan's and the PKK's decision to chart a new course towards peace and democracy," American political theorist Michael Hardt said in a statement on Abdullah Öcalan's call.

	 

	American political theorist Michael Hardt published a message of support for PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan's 27 February call for peace and democratic society and the PKK's congress decisions. Michael Hardt expressed his appreciation for the Kurdish Movement's steps towards peace and democracy.

	 

	Michael Hardt made the following statements in his message: "I recognize and support Öcalan's and the PKK's decision to chart a new course towards peace and democracy. In this process, the Kurdish Movement must construct a new meaning of peace and develop authentic political structures suited to democracy. Despite repressive forces, I believe that it can successfully fulfil this task, as it has so far proved time and again its ability to generate political innovation. This is why the Kurdish Movement continues to be a source of inspiration all over the world."
