Ekin Wan commemorated: Her struggle illuminates our path 2025-08-10 16:01:04   WAN - YJA-Star member Kevser Eltürk (Ekin Wan), whose body was exposed by soldiers after she was killed in an armed clash in Gimgim (Varto) district of Mûş on 10 August 2015, was commemorated at her grave in Karşıyaka Cemetery on the 10th anniversary of her death. DEM Party's Gulderen Varli said: "Her struggle illuminates our path."   A large number of people attended the commemoration organised under the leadership of the Association for Assistance and Solidarity with the Families Who Lost Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilisations (MEBYA-DER).   The crowd entered the cemetery with the slogan "Şehîd namirin" and then a moment of silence was held at the grave of Ekin Wan.   'THE MALE-STATE SYSTEM WAS EXPOSED'   Speaking here, Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Wan (Van) MP Gulderen Varli stated that in the person of Ekin Wan, the hatred of the male-state violence against the Kurdish people and women was exposed. She said: "The man-state lost with all its ugliness. The struggle she left behind illuminates our path and we will surely win."   The commemoration ended with slogans.
