Youth festival in Wan: Freedom is near 2025-08-14 08:51:45   WAN - In the feast organised in Wan with the slogan "We ara building peace and democratic society", it was emphasised that freedom and peace are close.    Within the scope of "Democratic Society Meetings", the festivals organised with the slogan "We are building peace and democratic society" continue. In the feast organised under the leadership of Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Wan (Van) Youth Assembly, a poster of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan was unveiled.    Thousands of people attended the festival and chanted "Bijî Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo), "Bijî berxwedana gelê Kurd (Long live resistance of Kurdish people)", "Şehid namirin (Martyr do not die), "Bê Serok jiyan nabe (There is no life without Leader).   Wan Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Abdullah Zeydan made a speech at the festival and said: "Young people have always been the drivers of peace and democracy. They will achieve a free life. We have suffered a lot and shed many tears. There was pain and tears on every level of our lives. Freedom, peace and success are near."   'LET THERE BE PEACE IN THIS COUNTRY NOW'   DEM Party Wan MP Mahmut Dindar said: "We will continue to stand by Abdullah Ocalan from now on. We will follow you until peace and freedom come to this country. We all need to protect this process. Speacial wars are being waged on the youth. You know that since they could not destroy this people, they offered to spy on us and put drugs between us. Their aim is to take us away from our party, our path. We call out to our mothers, take care of your children. If you see someone selling drugs on the streets, parks and avenues, do not give way to them."   After the speech, Aryen Kom music group took the stage. Citizens danced the halay accompanied by the klams (Kurdish songs).    The festival ended with applause, shouts and slogans.
