	DİYARBAKIR- Reason decision for the sentence of 9 years 2 months for Kulp Mayor Co-chair Sadiye Süer Baran was declared. The court board did not consider the testimony of the witness stating :" I did not give that testimony. I don't know that person. I am arrested with the charge of sexual abuse. I am working with the police."

	A file suited &nbsp;by the Ministry of Interrior on January 5, 2017 against Sadiye Süer Baran, DBP Kulp Mayor for the charge of "being a member of an illegal organization" and "Praising an illegal organization" in Diyarbakır 8th Criminal Court. In the hearing on October 9, court board sentenced Baran with 7 years 6 months for "Being a member of an illegal organization" and 20 months for "Praising an illegal organization" which is a total of 9 years and 2 months of jail time.

	Mehmet Kaplan who gave evidence against Baran, said he did not know Baran in the identification process done via video conference. When the judge reminded of the testimony of 25 pages he bore in Diyarbakır Chief Prosecutor's Office, Kaplan responded that the prosecutor made him sign some papers without even reading them. The coart board did not consider the statement of the witness in the courtroom and sentenced Baran to 9 years and 2 months of jail time.
