On the anniversary of Amudê Massacre, cinema makes the people meet 2018-11-13 11:33:52 KOBANÊ - On the 58th anniversary of the Amudê Massacre, movies with the themes women and resistance will meet with the North East Syrian people in Kobané International Film Festival.   Kobané International Film Festival organized by Rojava Film Commune will kick off today with an opening.The festival organized on the date of the 58th anniversary of the Amudê Massacre will last for 7 days. More than 400 film applied from the world cinema to the festival that is being organized internationally for te first time. 80 films chosen by the jury will meet with its viewers today.   In the event where the majority of the films will be about women and resistance , the films will be presented in Kobané, Amûdê, Qamişlo, Serêkanîyê and Derik. The jury of the festival containing animation films and resistance documentaries will consist of direcotrs, musicians like Katrin Olafsdôttır, Leonardo Heiblum, Berivan Xalid, Rachid Bouksim, Mylene Sauloy, Javier Corcuera.   FIRE OF AMUDÊ   283 people almost all of them children, was burned to death in the Amudê theater on November 13, 1960 while approximately 500 kids were watching movies. Festival will be held on the anniversary of this tragedy.
