The question 'Why are you in a hunger strike' was asked to the politicians under custody 2019-01-02 12:51:28 ADANA- Five politicians were taken under custody for participating in a two-day hunger strike to support the DTK co-chair and Hakkari parliamentarian Leyla Güven , the question why did they participate in the hunger strike was asked at the police station.   A two day hunger strike was started at the HDP Adana District Building on November 16 to support the indefinite non-rotating hunger strike of Democratic Society Congress Co- chair  and People's Democratic Party Hakkari Parliamentarian Leyla Güven who started the hunger strike to protest the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.   Adana  Public Prosecutor's Counter-terrorism İnvestigation Bureau have issued warrants for many people in scope of an investigation they have been runningwith the reason of supporting the hunger strike. Due to the investigation In the home raids carried out on 30 December, the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) member Olcay Süsgün, Adana Provincial Director of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Adana New Life Association President Hasan Kocaman, HDP Adana Provincial Director Suphiye Bayav   DBP Adana Provincial Director Güle Honey have been detained. The Socialist Re-Organization Party (SYKP) Adana Province President Mehmet Ali Gülşen, who did not go on hunger strike but visited the hunger strikers was also detained.   The depositions for the 5 politicians were started last night in Adana Provincial Security Directorate Political Branch.  The questions 'Why did you go into a hunger strike in HDP Building?' 'Who gave you the instructions?' 'Why did you visit the hunger strikers?' were asked. The 5 politicians were charged with 'Being a member of an illegal organization' and 'Propaganda of an illegal organization', 'Praising the crime and the criminal'.   The 5 politicians were referred to the Adana Courthouse after their depositions early in the morning.
