Levent Üzümcü: Those who have conscience are being wronged in this country 2019-01-09 10:37:24 İSTANBUL- Levent Üzümcü whose play ' What is being told is your story' was banned, said the people who have honour and conscience, the people who follow the truth are always being wronged in this country.   After Üzümcü's play that was supposed to be staged in A. Nihat Gökyiğit Congress Center on December 3th was cancelled, his play in İskenderun was cancelled because of the oppression as well.   Üzümcü who reacted to the cancellation of his play by saying "They are doing what they know best. They are taking the bread out of people's mouths." and spoke about the oppression on the artists.   Describing the attempt to establish a country of oppression, Üzümcü said that every segment opposed to injustice had been either destroyed or forced into something.   Üzümcü who continued his words by saying its not the play that is being banned, it is Levet Üzümcü, said: “In my play I tried to explain the friendship, peace and brotherhood in society. I don't know anyone who will watch this game and not be affected.This is something different. They are saying you can not perform your art, you can not make money. They are doing what they know best. They are saying you are either on of us or against us. "   Üzümcü stated that as the system and the regime continue like this, the people following the path of truth, dignity,mindfulness, conscience will always be victimized.   Üzümcü underlining that his only demand is justice, said: "I want a country valuing people for what they are as humans."
