'Pull the dark clouds over İmralı' 2019-02-25 11:16:32   İSTANBUL- Simamperi Akyıldız, mother of Edip Akyıldız who is on a hunger stike in Silivri No 5 Prison since January 5, called on to the authorities  stating they might participate in the hunger strikes if necessary and said: "Pull the dark clouds over İmralı."   The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven with the demand of termination of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is continuing since November 8, 2018. More than 300 prisoners in 62 different prisons are continuing the hunger strike they joined, while their families state that they are supporting their children in their cause.     Simamperi Akyıldız, mother of Edip Akyıldız shared the information that her son who is on a hunger strike in Silivri No 5 Closed Prison since January 5, is under arrest for 2 yeas and was sentenced to 5 years and 7 months in prison.   Akyıldız conveyed her son's message in which he said: "We are on a hunger strike for our leader. He was not able to see his family of attorneys in years. This is why we layed our bodies to hunger."   Akyıldız who said that not only Kurdish people but also Turkish people will not be free unless Öcalan is free, said: " The key to peace is in İmralı. We want them to pull those dark clouds over İmralı. They will see how clear sighted and literate he is when they finally let him be free."
