Hunger strikes spread to all prisons on 1 March

	DİYARBAKIR- Deniz Kaya who made a statement in the name of the prisoners who are PKK and PJAK members, announced that their hunger strike action against the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan will spread to all prisons on March 1.

	 

	While DTK Co-chair Leyla Güven is on a hunger strike for 111 days with the demand of the termination of the isolation against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, 331 prisoners from 67 different prisons are continuing their hunger strike, so are the hunger strikers in Hewlêr, Strasburg and Galler.

	 

	Despite these protests and the public's reactions, the government has not taken any steps in this direction until now. While the government maintained this stance, Deniz Kaya made a statement on behalf of the PKK and PJAK members in prisons.

	 

	'WE ARE STRENGTHENING OUR RESISTANCE AS PRISONERS'

	 

	Kaya who stated that they have declared the objective of their hunger strike before to the whole world, said: "We will not take a step back until the isolation on our leader is terminated. We are continuing our hunger striker from 67 prisons and with 331 political prisoners right now. The hunger strike initiated by Hakkari Deputy Leyla Güven comrade on November 8 is continuing determindly outside as well.Our people are resisting. The liberation movement is resisting. And our faith in our victory is growing.

	 

	We do not have a chance other than fighting against fascism. That's why we are strengthening our resistance in the dungeons. "

	 

	Kaya said, their hunger strike action will spread to all prisons on March 1st.

	 

	Kaya said: " As the PKK- PJAK member prisoners being held in the dungeons, we announce that we will all be joining the hunger strike from all prisons simultaneously on March 1.

	 

	Our hunger strike will continue until our demand is met. No one can make us take a step back from our resistance except our leader. As long as the isolation on our leader continues, so will our resistance.In this regard, we call upon all democracy advocates, intellectuals, writers, academics and non-governmental organizations; Make a sound of our rising resistance.Let's break down fascism, let us build a free and honorable life together. We stand against the AKP-MHP fascism, which is an obstacle to an equal and free life. The isolation on the leadership is on everyone. We call on everyone to resist to break isolation. "
