AYM decision on violation of 'freedom of communication' in İmralı 2019-03-07 13:20:08   İSTANBUL-  The decision on the application of Veysi Aktaş about his complaint on his phonecall rights is finalized. Supreme Court (AYM) who passed verdict on the fact that the freedom of communication of Aktaş has been violated, decided a immaterial compensation of 4 thousand liras to be payed to Aktaş. The application Nasrullah Kuran have made about his visitation rights was rejected by a majority vote .   The phone call rights of Veysi Aktaş who is a prisoner in İmralı High Security Type F Closed Prison, was precluded between June 2015 and July 2016 on the grounds that he 'conveys the messages of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan' to outside. AYM has ruled that his freedom of communication was violated.   On the other hand, the application Nusrullah Kuran have made when he was being kept at İmralı at the time, before he was transferred to Silivri Prison, was finalized as well. Kuran's application of his not being able to use his rights of visitation and canteen shopping was rejected by a majority vote.
