
Leyla Güven's hunger strike have left behind 4 months

	DİYARBAKIR- The hunger strike DTK Co-chair Leyla Güven have initiated with the demand of terminating the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan have left behind 4 months.

	&nbsp;

	Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven have started an indefinite non-rotating hunger strike with the demand of the termination of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan Novermber 8th in Diyarbakır Type E Closed Prison she was being kept at. Güven continued her hunger strike at her home in Diyarbakır, Bağlar when she was released from prison on January 25. Güven's hunger stike is on its 120th day today.

	Demokratik Toplum Kongresi (DTK) Eş Başkanı Leyla Güven, PKK Lideri Abdullah Öcalan üzerindeki tecridin kaldırılması talebiyle 8 Kasım 2018 tarihinde tutuklu bulunduğu Diyarbakır E Tipi Kapalı Cezaevi’nde süresiz dönüşümsüz açlık grevi eylemi başlattı. Güven, tutuklu yargılandığı dava kapsamında 25 Ocak’ta tahliye edilmesi ardından eylemini Diyarbakır’ın Bağlar ilçesinin Bağcılar mahallesinde bulunan evinde sürdürdü. Güven’in eylemi 120’inci gününe girdi.&nbsp;

	On January 12, Mehmet Öcalan, brother of Abdullah Öcalan was allowed to visit his brother in İmralı Island. Güven who made a statement via her attorneys on January 14, said a single meeting does not mean the isolation is over and said she will continue with her hunger strike until the aggaraveted isolation is completely terminated.

	Güven said: "Our demand is legitimate and legal. This isolation is a crime against humanity. And we want to warn the AKP-MHP fascist government that they will not be able to sit in their chairs when coffins start getting out of the prisons."

	After Güven, Nasır Yağız from Federal Kurdistan District, Hewlér started a hunger strike, which is on its 107th day today. The hunger strikes of 14 journalists and politicians in Strasburg, and İmam Şiş's hunger strike is on its 81st day. The political prisoners in hunger strike are on their 82nd day. Moreover, all PKK and PJAK prisoners have started a hunger strike in every prison in Turkey on March 1.

	People's Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır Deputy Dersim Dağ and 5 HDP members have started a hunger strike in Diyarbakır District Building on March 3. They later was taken under custody with the order of Minister of Interrior Süleyman Soylu. HDP Deputy Dersim Dağ is continuing her hunger strike in the district building while the 5 HDP members Salih Cansever, İsmet Yıldız, Sevican Yaşar, Salih Tekin and Bilal Özgezer continue theirs under custody.
